So I've decided not to drive for two weeks. This is a difficult task as the nearest sidewalk from my house is no less than a mile away. Right now I'm on day three and I'm going to try to keep this up for at least two weeks total. Compared to my last 23 weeks of nothing but school and work, I have relatively nothing to do for these two weeks and three associate's degrees to prove that I deserve a two week break to do a whole lot of whatever-the-random-f*ck I want. So anti-car it is! I've been skateboarding, walking, taking the bus, and bumming rides. Well, I've gotten a ride home from a friend and right now I'm reduced to hobbling around like a penguin since my leg is sore from pushing on the skateboard. (Ohhhh you should see my foot blister! It's so gross a huge!) The heat doesn't bother me too much; I think that I don't feel heat, just the effects of the heat. It's weird.
Well, actually I realized I have more work than I knew I had before. I thought all I would have to do is show up for an orientation on marquees tomorrow morning but apparently I have 3 additional orientation meetings for my summer assignment, one of these meetings was yesterday which I found out about 3 hours before the meeting, as I stood drenching in sweat and red-faced before my boss, handing in my timesheet. Luckily, I have friends around town to steal clean shirts from.
And I promise I'm not just staying at home to avoid using my car. That would be way too easy. I'm planning on having a "destination" everyday to walk/skateboard to. That should take care of the 15 pounds I lost and then gained back in the past 6 months.
One of the fun things is noticing all the different birds around. And there's a lot of freaking birds! I recognize them but I don't always know the names of them off hand.. I just know I saw them before in bio 2 lab and I probably drew them on my posters of birds and their taxonomy order names. :-/ On Sunday I waded through Walnut Creek and got some nasty bites. Normally I wouldn't care but now that I know the biology of everything that can kill me, it's a little scary. Also, Kahler-Russel Park tested positive for West Nile Virus!!! Ohhh shit.
And I wanna know how many things Michael D. Antonovich has named himself after.

One more week until the Spring semester is over. I am dying. But I found a trailhead for Walnut Creek Wilderness Park near my house so I will have lots of fun adventures in there this summer! Can't wait. Expect pictures.

i worked for Target when i was 17 for about 5 months in 2005. There's a class action lawsuit for personal holiday time that I just got mailed about and apparently if the lawsuit rules infavor of whoever "wong" is, I get "at least $5". Sweet.
